Mohammed Cartoons
In 2005, A Danish newspaper published cartoons lampooning the Prophet Mohammed. In 2006, the cartoons were republished after Muslims objected to them — the re-publication caused riots by Muslims in some countries, with several people being killed in the rioting. While Muslims objected to the depiction of Mohammed, others said freedom of the press was the more important issue.
