I purchased glasses through Lenscrafters who finance through GE Money. I have called 8 times trying to get a bill. GE Money from India finally called me today and I could barely understand the woman on the line with me. She said there would be a 39.00 late fee because I did not make the payment. I asked for a statement to be sent and she started repeating "pay your bills" . I hung up and called 866-519-6450 and talked to someone here in US and resolved the problem. They are removing the 39.00 late fee and are going to send a bill. I would recommend no one deal with a company that does not have US reps to talk with or that will tack on a late fee when they haven't sent a bill.

GE Money Bank, is a mess, you call to talk with a customer service agent and they sound like they are from a foreign country, when you ask about your payments (such as on a bill with two Promotional expiration dates, I asked if they apply my payment to the one that expires first and they are not sure, then I was told I need to call every time I make a payment and tell them to apply the payment to the one that expires first, sounds like they don't know what they are doing and they really don't understand the job very well. You have to stay on top of them, today I had to call six times before I received the help I needed.

My wife and I just bought a solar hot water heating system that the selling company financed through GE Money Bank. The sales slip written by the seller says the interest rate will be 11.9%. The week of March 7 a GE Money Bank representative called us to go over our account with us and verified that the interest rate would be 11.9%.
Today, Monday, March 15, 2010, we received a notice from GE Money Bank, the first correspondence we’ve received from them, with no return phone number or address, telling us “sorry if this is an inconvenience to you” and enclosing a pamphlet saying our interest rate would be 26.9% interest.
We have yet to receive a bill or any other document from GE Money Bank, but the hot water heater and solar panels have already been installed and we've already received the rebate from the local electric authority which was applied to the purchase price. We'll still owe GE nearly $10,000 until the rest of our rebate comes later from the state government and a larger amount next year from the federal government.
On top of this outrageous misrepresentation, our credit rating dropped four to six points, just based on the inquiry to the credit agencies from GE Money Bank. GE Money Bank does not have a good reputation, and my experience with them in the past has not been good. This experience certainly does not appear to be a representation of “truth in credit.”

I have to write here. I also have had problems with GE Money. And as others, I feel that they are not a very moral company. But I also have issues with many of the people leaving comments. Such as Sal who left comment number 8. He states at the end that the operators that answer can't speak English. I have found that to be true...but Sal you really need to learn to type English. If that is the way you talk, no wonder they can't understand you. Read your letter....I found 23 grammical errors as I labored to read your comment. I have English for Marines...a book to help non English speaking Marines..what is your address Sal. I will send it to you...courtesy of a US Marine. Please, just type your address...nothing else. I really can't take reading more of your non English ranting. Thanks.

I just got off the phone with these disgusting thieves! This is criminal!

I have had a GE Money Bank line of credit for 4 years now. My limit has always been $7,500 and I am NEVER late. I always pay about $250 a month and my combined fico score is over 700.

I am an ideal customer! Seriously, I pay my bills straight away.

I noticed something weird on my credit monitoring where my credit to debt ratio took a hit......
THEY NOT ONLY LOWERED MY CREDIT LIMIT TO $2600 (which is all that I owe) BUT THEY ARBITRARILY CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT!!!!

The excuse, like they gave many others, is that GE pulled my credit and I was a risk. REALLY?? Cause my credit monitoring shows I am LOW risk AND I was just approved for a 400K house!

Am greatly concerned about my credit rating taking a hit. Another co HSBC (thru best buy) did this to me as well but the amounts were a lot smaller.

This was my emergency account anyways but I am more worried about the impact with my credit rating...

They cut our limits to adversely effect our credit ratings... once that happens our interest rates can go up. shameful and shady companies!
