Try Home Depot. Just got a replacement lens for a fluorescent light fixture for $6.49. What's up with these online places charging $40 or more?!? And that was before shipping! Greedy online bastards.

For the teacher looking for an inexpensive light diffuser, Educational Insights makes a nylon panel that attaches to the light frame with magnets. They can also be ordered from Calloway House. I have not actually seen or used the product, I just saw it in a catalog. The cost is approx. $30 (plus tax and shipping) for four panels. Hope this helps!

I have been in search of diffuser panels in a powder blue cracked ice design. My dad used these panels in a louvered window treatment around 30 years ago and the panels are in dire need of replacement. I'm sure he just bought the panels from a home depot and cut them to size. I've looked everywhere but can only find the clear and white variety. Any help would be appreciated.--Lisa

I am looking for a less expensive flourescent light diffuser than the acrylic panel diffusers. I am a school teacher and I would love to use something like this in my classroom, but as you know, school districts won't pay for something like this and I can' afford to cover the 8 lights I have in my room with acrylic panels. Any suggestions as to how I could get the same effect for an affordable price? Thanks for any help!

Tube guards are great for protection and cutting down on UV rays. I highly recommend this website as a source for replacement diffusers/tube guards:

For Jeff Fioravanti who is searching for L-shaped diffuser panels: Contact Tap Plastics; they can often fabricate custom-sized panels for a reasonable price, sometimes while you wait! (BTW, if you can take your old diffuser in as a template, it will help them match style and cut precisely) FYI, they have "standard" diffuser panels--nothing artsy/fancy.

Good luck with your project.
