Edelman PR
What are the best sites about Edelman PR (Public Relations)? We’ve started with these. What else should be here?
1. Edelman.com - One of the largest public relations agencies in the world, and according to Edelman, the “only independent global PR firm”, Edelman’s Web site offers you a taste of industries it specializes in, the many services it offers, Edelman offices around the world, the firm’s history, and Speak Up, a central repository for Edelman’s bloggers, podcasts, and a roundup of news of interest to media professionals. (www.edelman.com)
2. Wal-Marting Across America - This blog, written by the sister of an Edelman employee, became controversial when critics of Wal-Mart ripped it as an Edelman stunt to promote Wal-Mart. In the blog, the writer drives an RV to Wal-Mart stores across the country, and writes of her experiences camping out in Wal-Mart parking lots. (walmartingacrossamerica.com)
3. Fake Walmart Blog - Cartoon by gapingvoid’s Hugh Macleod suggests where the Edelman employee who thought up the Wal-Mart trip might be today. (www.gapingvoid.com)
4. Edelman, Rubel Respond on Wal-Mart Flog - Report on Edelman executives Richard Edelman’s and Steve Rubel’s responses to the controversy over the “fake” Wal-Mart blog, neither of which offered a lot of information but acknowledged the error in not being “transparent” about who the Wal-Mart bloggers were. (www.webpronews.com)
5. Richard Edelman Calls… - Popular tech blogger Robert Scoble is willing to give Edelman the benefit of the doubt over the Wal-Mart controversy. (scobleizer.wordpress.com)
6. Wal-Mart’s Jim and Laura: The Real Story - BusinessWeek reveals that the Wal-Marting Across Americas trip was completely paid for by Working Families for Wal-Mart, an organization started by Edelman. (www.businessweek.com)
7. 6 A.M. - Blog from Edelman president and CEO Richard Edelman discusses projects Edelman is working on and issues in the world of PR. (www.edelman.com)
8. Micro Persuasion - Steve Rubel, senior vice president in Edelman’s me2revolution practice, which focuses on new forms of communication, has penned this very popular blog on PR and social media since before his time at Edelman. It is a Rubel’s personal blog, but is listed on Edelman’s Web site, so the company obviously thinks it reflects well on them. (www.micropersuasion.com)
