Credit Report
Seven of the best sites about credit reports. Know of another site that should be listed here? Leave your suggestion at the bottom of this page. (Related searches: Debt Management, Background Checks, Bad Credit Loan)
1. AnnualCreditReport.com - The official site to get your free credit file disclosure, also known as your credit report, from one of the three credit reporting agencies — Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. You are entitled to a free report from each of the agencies annually, thus the name Annual Credit Report. You get free credit reports, which is a listing of the agencies’ records of your credit history, but you do not get a free credit score — credit scores are an actual number that credit reporting agencies calculate and that lenders may use when deciding on your application for a loan or credit card. Credit scores still have to be purchased, which you can also do here if you choose. (www.annualcreditreport.com)
2. Credit and Your Consumer Rights - This article from the U.S. government’s Federal Trade Commission offers extensive information on your credit rating, including when you are entitled to get a free credit report, how long information stays on your credit record, and tips on what to do if you feel that your credit report has incorrect information that you want to dispute. (www.ftc.gov)
3. Equifax - One of the main credit reporting agencies, where you can purchase credit reports, credit scores and “credit monitoring” services to track any changes to your credit report. (www.equifax.com)
4. Experian - Another credit reporting agency where you can get your credit report and credit score as well as other credit-related services. (www.experian.com)
5. TransUnion - Credit reporting agency that offers credit reports, credit scores and credit monitoring services to consumers. (www.transunion.com)
6. Good Life Credit - Credit repair attorneys who work with clients to help get incorrect information removed from credit reports. (goodlifecredit.com)
7. CrediTips.com - Offers videos and software meant to help you boost your credit scores and dispute incorrect information on your credit reports. (www.creditips.com)
