1. Powell’s Books - Good selection of new, used and out-of-print books, along with plenty of book reviews, author essays, more. (www.powells.com)
2. Barnes & Noble - Buy books online from their wide selection of fiction and non-fiction, get book recommendations, or find your local bricks-and-mortar B&N bookstore with their store locator. (www.barnesandnoble.com)
3. Amazon.com - No real-world book store here, but you can buy just about any book online and have it delivered to your door. (www.amazon.com)
4. That Special Bookstore - Author Paul Levinson talks about his favorite book store ever, near the Bowdoin College campus in Maine. (paullev.libsyn.com)
5. Blue Rectangle - Buy used books, mainly nonfiction, or sell your used books back to them. Also includes a section of video book reviews. (www.bluerectangle.com)
6. Borders - Large book store chain offers two options to buy books. Search their in-store inventory and then purchase your book at a Borders store near you, or buy books via Borders.com, its online book store run in conjunction with Amazon.com. 7. City Lights Booksellers and Publishers - The legendary San Francisco bookstore known for being the beatnik hangout and publishing or carrying works from Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and other controversial authors is still selling books on art, politics, history and, of course, Beat literature.
