Think American Eagle clothes look cool? Yeah, they’re fashion forward but AE may actually be behind the curve when it comes to social responsibility. AE doesn’t seem to want to apply its own Code of Conduct at a Canadian warehouse where AE clothes are packed and shipped by a contractor called NLS. When workers with low wages tried to form a union, they faced management harassment and intimidation. AE has done nothing in response. I’m working with the labor union UNITE HERE to help customers learn more about the story behind the label. Visit www.AmericanVulture.org.
